Cary Rodman Cooper

Cary has a diverse civil trial practice covering a variety of commercial disputes, business-related torts, healthcare, construction, and civil rights. After completing judicial clerkships in both state and federal courts, Cary served for two years as a public defender representing indigent criminal defendants in trials and appeals, including seven murder trials.

Cary also has an active arbitration practice in which he regularly serves as an arbitrator in business and healthcare disputes. He is a member of the American Arbitration Association’s Commercial Panel of Arbitrators and the American Health Lawyers Association Panel of Neutrals.

Cary has carried the AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review RatingSM by Martindale-Hubbell® for more than 35 years. He has been listed in annual editions of The Best Lawyers in America in Commercial Litigation, and in 2009, he was named “Toledo Best Lawyers Bet-the-Company Litigator of the Year” in The Best Lawyers in America. He is listed also in annual editions of Ohio Super Lawyers. Cary is also a life member of the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals Judicial Conference. And in 2006, he received The University of Toledo Alumni Association’s Distinguished Lawyer Award.
