Cooper & Kowalski prevails in election lawsuit

Cooper & Kowalski attorneys Gerald Kowalski, and Meghan Anderson Roth successfully defended Lucas County Commissioner Carol Contrada in a lawsuit filed by her opponent challenging the results of the November 2010 election. After brief but intensive discovery (Ohio law requires election challenges to be tried within 60 days of filing), the challenger voluntarily dismissed his lawsuit on the second day of trial. "The result of this election was never in doubt," said lead trial lawyer, Gerry Kowalski. "We were thrilled to prevail on behalf of our client and to reassure the voters in Lucas County that their choice for county commissioner is serving in that position."
