Toledo, OH – Cooper & Kowalski Associate Sarah Skow graduated with the inaugural class of the Ohio State Bar Association’s ("OSBA") Leadership Academy. The Academy’s goal is to cultivate and to support future leaders in the legal community. The State Bar President chose the class from among attorneys who have been practicing from three to ten years. The class of 24 lawyers was chosen from large and small firms, from large cities and small towns, and from a variety of legal disciplines.
The Academy seeks to:
- identify and instruct lawyers for future leadership in the Association, the profession, and the community;
- raise the level of awareness among lawyers regarding the broad range of issues facing the legal profession and to build relationships among legal leaders across state and experience levels; and
- create a corps of lawyers on which the OSBA, state and local government entities, local bar associations, and community organizations can call for leadership and service.
"The Leadership Academy is one of the greatest experiences that I have had as a young lawyer. The program introduced me to my colleagues from across the state, exposed me to different practice disciplines, and challenged me to contribute to my local and state bar association and community groups to advance the tenets of our profession," said Sarah.
Sarah practices in the areas of tort litigation, civil rights, criminal defense, and business litigation. She has experience both at trial and on appeal in state and federal courts.
